General terms of Internet world.

Website, Web-Portal, Portal : Google, MyCitySurat, Linkedin, Facebook are websites or portals.

Social Media : Your profiles / pages / groups on websites such as Facebook, LinkedIn are your Social Media.

Email IDs : For example, sawan.jasoliya@gmail.com, ask@mycitybaroda.com etc.

Log-in IDs : This is what you create on websites after sign-up / registration to access their content, build-up your profile / account. Mostly it is a combination of User ID + Password. Nowadays, OTP (One Time Password, sent on registered mobile phone) login is becoming common.


What is the website?

Website is a document / set of documents either static (only can be seen) or interactive or both which can be accessed through internet using various browsers. 

You can reach to them by providing the correct names (URL : Uniform Resource Locator) or searching through various search engines.

Social Media Websites / Portals

Facebook : A personal Social Media basically. Smart people can use them in a professional manner. Facebook groups, pages are the powerful tools to build-up a strong network. See : https://www.facebook.com/groups/mycityjobs/

Linkedin : A professional Social Media basically. Smart people use it effectively by building it up as a Personal Brand. By creating appropriate IDs (company or HR), we can promote job-requirements on it.

YouTube : A video sharing portal on which one can build up his channel to share the videos. Promotion of the videos can be done on other Social Media.

And some others... 

Is WhatsApp a Social Media?

Yes. It is.

Perfect contact management, broadcasting lists, whatsapp groups and status updates give you the superpower to reach to the target audience.

ALWAYS REMEMBER : 

Nothing is FREE. 

Either it’s FAKE or taking something from you indirectly or BOTH.

Email IDs

Email communication is very essential.

Gmail is the most power full Email today. It also gives you access to a lot of Google services like Youtube, Google-groups, Hangout messenger, Google maps, Google business etc.

Special Email IDs such as jobs@mycitypune.com create a professional foot-print and they are very essential.

Most of the websites need your email-IDs for signing-up and account related communication.

Create a good Email-ID and manage it wisely. 

A good Email-ID is your first impression. Keep it simple and sober. 

sawanjasoliya.mech@xyz.com is Okay. sjrocks007@abc.com is not good for official use.

You can create and use multiple IDs for different purposes. But don’t create more than what you can manage. Losing an ID is losing a part of your online life.

Do not subscribe to unnecessary stuff with your Master IDs. It will save you from unwanted mails.


Parts of the website in general

Front end : This is the visible sections of the website to everyone using the internet from anywhere. Some sections may be accessible only after Sign-up / registration and LOG-IN process. (See : www.mycityrajkot.com or www.mycitybaroda.com/jobs.php )

Back end / Admin side : This is only accessible to specific people (website owner or the people who have been authorised by owner) through admin panel. Website administration / moderation / addition / deletion and other operation are being done here. (See : www.mycitynagpur.com/admin )

Developers end : This part is visible and accessible by the the Programmers / Developers only.

About MyCityPortals

They are general purpose websites.

We want to add little profit and comfort in routine lives of the citizens through the simple features. Feature development and improvement is a continuous process at MyCityPortals.

Job feature is the one where job-seekers can see the jobs in ‘Latest on the top’ order. Left side will suggest the nature of the company (not name), area, job publishing date. Right side will display the job-title, job-description and other details about the position with click-to-apply button. See : www.mycitysurat.com/jobs_in_surat.php .


How does the Job-feature work?

A job-seeker needs to study the jobs on the job-page of the MyCityPortal and select the right job (job-position, job-profile, salary, area, company category are the criteria to be checked).

He should be a registered member of the MyCityPortal (all portals are different and need separate registrations) and have Log-in ID.

Portal registration is a simple process which takes 2-3 minutes only. It needs your active Email-ID, phone number, name, DOB, gender. You will select your 4-digit PIN of your choice. This PIN can be changed anytime in future.

Log-in is a combination of Email-ID + 4-digit PIN OR Phone No. + 4-digit PIN.

Click to apply for selected job.

A new form will appear where a job-seeker will see the job being applied for,  mention the salary expectation, attach the CV (it will show as link if it’s already attached before. It can be updated if required). Submit.

The application will be,

Forwarded to MyCityAdmin / MyCityHR.

2a. Forwarded to the registered company / firm.

2b. Notified to the registered company / firm (in case of MyCityHR is the active recruiting consultant for that company).


How does the Job-feature work? Continued...

IMPORTANT : There are some cities where MyCityTeam is working actively and may process your job applications.

Some cities are working in DOL mode (Direct and Online). 

In these cities, your applications are being forwarded to the companies through email. This is a completely ONLINE feature and it’s FREE.

While applying for any job, please check the Date of Publishing.

Response is always better if the job has been applied for at the right time. 

Try to apply for the right jobs as soon as they publish.
